The Paramount War is the biggest war in the One Piece series so far. It took place just before the Timeskip, and the capture of Portgas D. Ace at the hands of the Marines triggered it. This war ended the Great Pirate Era for good, and started the new age of Pirates. Today, I’ve ranked the 10 strongest characters who took part in the paramount war.
Jozu was the 3rd Division Commander of the Whitebeard Pirates. He ate an unnamed Paramecia type of Devil Fruit which turned his body into Diamond. Jozu is an able fighter. He was able to fight Aokiji easily, and even pushed him back. A battle between them could go either ways. He is definitely at the same level as an Admiral.
Aokiji was one of the Admirals of the Marines. He has eaten a Logia type of Devil Fruit, called Hie Hie no Mi, which allows him to use, and turn into ice. He was pivotal in the war of Marineford. Aokiji fought against Jozu, and succeeded in freezing him, only when he got distracted. Nonetheless, he even stood up to Whitebeard and tied against Ace.
Kizaru is an Admiral of the Marines, and he possesses a Logia type of Devil Fruit, called Pika Pika no Mi. He was powerful enough to fight against Marco on equal footing. Again, a battle between them could go either ways. He also intercepted Whitebeard on several occasions.
Marco is the First Division Commander of the Whitebeard Pirates. He is a an extremely powerful person, who has eaten a Mythical Zoan type of Devil Fruit. This allows him to turn his body into a Phoenix. He can heal from any sort of injury and this is what gives him the edge above most characters. He can only be defeated with seastone cuffs, and that is how the Marines did it.
Akainu was an Admiral during the War of Marineford. He later became the Fleet Admiral after Sengoku retired. Akainu was extremely powerful. He was able to fight against Whitebeard to some extent. Further, he could even injure him, but he lost to him ultimately. He faced the Division Commanders all alone, and Marco and Vista’s attacks weren’t even able to scratch him.
Sengoku was the Fleet Admiral of the Marines during the War of Marineford. He is a great strategist, and he did extremely well to corner the Whitebeard Pirates. Further, he is a user of a Zoan type of Devil Fruit called Hito Hito no Mi: Model Daibutsu. This allows him to turn into a Buddha and create shockwaves that match the punches of Gura Gura no Mi.
04. Monkey D. Garp
Monkey D. Garp was once the rival of Gol D. Roger. However, during the War of Marineford, he had gotten old. He was still one of the strongest who were present there. Garp didn’t do much there, but his reputation alone puts him on the 4th spot.
03. Marshall D. Teach
Marshall D. Teach was a Shichibukai who later became one of the Yonko. This is the battle where he acquired his second Devil Fruit, the Gura Gura no Mi, from Whitebeard. During this battle, he was able to figure equally against Sengoku, and even even Garp could do nothing to him.
Shanks entered the Paramount War only to end it. He was able to instill fear into Akainu when he appeared. Further, nobody was even able to come near Shanks when he appeared. However, it is to be noted that Shanks didn’t come with a fighting intention, and the Marines already had several casualties. So, they couldn’t afford fighting another Yonko there.
Unarguably, the strongest Pirate after Gol D. Roger was Whitebeard. He was the strongest of all Yonko, and nobody stood up to him. He is also the only person in history who could match Gol D. Roger in a battle. Whitebeard possessed the Gura Gura no Mi, which gave him the power to create quakes. Garp described him as the King of the Seas, and Sengoku called him the “Strongest Man in the Entire World”. Without a doubt, he was the mightiest.
That’s all. Please leave a comment and don’t forget to subscribe to our blog.
